Domain Names
What address you have for your website is important; it can speak volumes about the site content, it can be snappy and eyecatching, it can protect your business name. You can choose to have spaceonline look after the domain name registration of your website using our prefered registrar; we will make sure your domain name remains pointed to your web space, does not lapse and ensure it is locked against registration theft. It’s peace of mind for your internet address.
You can register names yourself if you wish – you may already have one or more names already registered – in which case we can provide the nameserver information you need to make your address point to your new webspace. We think our fees are competitive, and we will only charge a transfer fee if we are billed by your current registrar to release the name. We will never charge you extra for release, DNS editing or locking unlike some other companies.

If you require a TLD not in the list above, please contact us and we’ll advise you further. Some TLD registrars have very strict guidelines (for instance, if you wanted .fr, which is the TLD for France, you would have to be able to show that you were a French national, or registered for business in France.) Because many attractive, short, names have already been taken in the .com, .net, .org and .co.uk TLDs, there are many new variations available, like .uk.com, .dj, .tv etc – these can be quite expensive to register (e.g. .uk.com is £42 p.a.).
If you want to transfer management of a domain name you already own to spaceonline, we’d be happy to accomodate you. Extra fees may be payable to release the domain from your current registrar.
